The SCADA User Group was started in February 2022 by Doug Short and Randy Petersen when we saw the need to create a venue for utilities to collaborate and share ideas. We started with just two utilities and have rapidly grown to include organizations from all over the state sharing their expertise in the industry. We are focused on Operational Technology (OT) in the water sector and have discussions around what makes SCADA operations unique, the challenges associated, and the cybersecurity needs. This user group has allowed the various River Authorities and water utilities to share their ideas, practices, and challenges. The goal is to continue enabling organizations to advance the operational technologies, network architecture, programming, and cybersecurity that is specific to process control.
We meet every six months and build our agendas around the topics that are of highest interest to the attendees. Every meeting has new topics, subject matter experts, and new opportunities to network with other organizations in the water/wastewater industry.
