Conference Code of Conduct

Purpose

This conference is committed to providing a professional, respectful, inclusive, and safe environment for all participants. By attending, all attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, organizers, and staff agree to uphold the standards outlined in this Code of Conduct throughout the event and any related activities, including networking functions, workshops, virtual sessions, and social media interactions.

Expected Standards of Behavior

All participants are expected to:

  • Treat others with professionalism, courtesy, dignity, and respect.
  • Foster an environment that encourages open dialogue, collaboration, and diverse perspectives.
  • Communicate constructively, even during disagreements or debates.
  • Respect personal boundaries, privacy, and consent in all interactions.
  • Follow all venue policies, event rules, and applicable local laws and regulations.
  • Wear conference credentials or badges as required.
  • Use non-discriminatory language in presentations, discussions, and communications.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor during both formal sessions and social events.

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are not tolerated:

  • Harassment, intimidation, discrimination, or bullying of any kind.
  • Offensive verbal comments related to race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, religion, age, or other protected characteristics.
  • Unwelcome sexual attention, advances, or physical contact.
  • Disruptive behavior during presentations, meetings, or networking events.
  • Threats, stalking, or deliberate intimidation.
  • Inappropriate photography, recording, or sharing of private information without consent.
  • Excessive intoxication or substance-related misconduct.
  • Possession of illegal substances or weapons at conference venues.
  • Retaliation against individuals who report concerns or participate in investigations.

Digital and Social Media Conduct

Event organizers may use photos taken during the event for promotion.

Participants engaging in conference-related online discussions or social media activity are expected to:

  • Communicate respectfully and professionally.
  • Avoid sharing confidential or proprietary information without permission.
  • Respect intellectual property rights and speaker content restrictions.
  • Refrain from posting harassing, defamatory, or discriminatory content.

Reporting Concerns

Anyone who experiences or witnesses behavior that violates this Code of Conduct is encouraged to report it promptly to conference organizers, event staff, security personnel, or designated contacts.

Reports will be handled as confidentially as possible and reviewed promptly and fairly.

When making a report, please provide:

  • A description of the incident
  • Date, time, and location
  • Names or descriptions of involved individuals
  • Any supporting documentation or witnesses, if available

Response and Enforcement

Conference organizers reserve the right to take appropriate action in response to violations of this Code of Conduct, including but not limited to:

  • Verbal warning
  • Removal from specific sessions or activities
  • Revocation of conference credentials without refund
  • Removal from the conference venue
  • Notification of employer, sponsoring organization, or authorities when appropriate
  • Restriction from attending future events

Organizers will determine appropriate corrective actions based on the nature and severity of the violation.
